Who operates this site

Dragonkind Guide is an independent, unofficial fan guide operated by an individual. For privacy questions or requests, contact [email protected]. This site is not affiliated with or endorsed by Rebecca Yarros, her publishers, or the official Dragonkind game at dragonkind.com.

Information handled by the site

Depending on which features you use, the site may handle:

  • Account information: email address, display name, email-verification status, profile image, and account-provider identifiers needed to sign in.
  • Session and security information: session identifiers, sign-in and expiration times, IP address, and browser user-agent. The account record may also contain your selected language and a sanitized utm_source value from the link that brought you to the site.
  • Cookies and browser storage: essential session cookies keep sign-in working. A utm_source cookie can remain in your browser for up to 30 days. The Dragonkind play demo saves its current run, choices, result card, collection, and progress in your browser’s local storage; that demo data is not sent to the site server by the play feature. You can clear it in your browser settings.
  • Route reports and votes: the route form and vote controls currently operate as a page preview. Their contents remain in page memory, disappear when you reload, and are not saved to or published from a server. The site does not currently have a live player-ranking service.
  • Images and support messages: if you upload a profile image through an enabled upload form, the image and its URL may be handled by the configured storage provider. The route-report form currently does not upload screenshots. If you email support, we receive the message and the contact details you include.
  • Optional integrations: depending on production settings, analytics, advertising, affiliate, email, and payment providers may receive information needed to provide their service. Analytics or advertising providers may use cookies, device identifiers, or page-event data under their own privacy notices.

Why information is used

Information is used to create and secure accounts, deliver sign-in messages, remember language and referral source, operate the site and its browser-based demo, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, understand site performance, and—only when enabled—measure advertising or affiliate links and provide paid features. Where applicable law requires a specific legal basis or consent, the site will use the basis and controls required for that activity.

Service providers and disclosures

The site may use service providers for hosting, database and authentication, file storage, email delivery, analytics, advertising, affiliate measurement, and payment processing. For example, production configuration may use Supabase for PostgreSQL data, Cloudflare R2 for uploaded files, and an email provider for sign-in messages. Providers process information under their own terms and only as needed for their service. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or when necessary to protect users, the site, or legal rights.

Dragonkind Guide does not currently publish route-form submissions or votes to a server. Before persistent submissions, public player rankings, or screenshot uploads are enabled, this policy and the relevant form notices will be updated to explain the data collected, storage, visibility, and retention.

Retention and security

Account and session records are kept while needed to provide and secure the account, then deleted or de-identified when no longer needed, unless a longer period is required by law or to resolve a security or legal issue. Referral cookies expire after 30 days. Browser-only demo data remains until you clear it or your browser removes it. Support messages and uploaded images are retained for the time needed to respond, operate the feature, and handle legitimate legal or security needs.

Reasonable safeguards are used to protect information. No online service can promise that every transmission or storage system is completely secure.

Your choices and requests

You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser. You can ask to access, correct, or delete account information, or ask a privacy question, by emailing [email protected]. We may ask for information needed to verify the request. Rights and response requirements depend on the law that applies to you; nothing in this policy limits rights that cannot legally be waived.

Children and international processing

Dragonkind Guide is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided account information, contact support so it can be reviewed. Service providers may process information in countries other than your own; where required, appropriate transfer safeguards will be used.

Changes

This policy may be revised as the site or its features change. The updated date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be posted here before they take effect where required by law.
